Terms

These are the terms we work under. Nothing in them is a surprise: every one of them is already stated somewhere on this site, in prose, on a page written to be read rather than skipped. This page is where they sit together so you can hold us to all of them at once.

Who you are contracting with

page-flow, working from Milton Keynes. We are being straight about a gap here rather than leaving you to notice it: the company registration details that belong in this paragraph are not filled in yet, so until they are, your contract is with the people who answer hello@page-flow.co.uk, and this page will say so. Ask us for the current position in writing before you commit to anything and we will give it to you in writing.

What we agree, and when

A price on this site is an offer to do a defined piece of work for a stated amount. The quote calculator produces an estimate from the same numbers, and an estimate is not yet a contract.

We are agreed when the scope is written down and you have said yes to it: what is being built, what is in it, what is not in it, and what it costs. Before that, nobody owes anybody anything. After it, that written scope is the thing both of us are held to, including us.

Price, and what moves it

The price is the one published for the build you chose, plus any add-ons you picked, each of which is priced before any work happens rather than discovered later. Work that is not in the agreed scope is quoted before it starts. We do not bill you for something you did not agree to, and we do not start it either.

Hourly work is charged at the published rates: £45/hr with no subscription, in whole-hour blocks with a one-hour minimum; £35/hr beyond the hours included in your Styx tier; and £30/hr inside a Feature Retainer commitment.

If a price on this site is wrong, we honour the published price for anything already agreed at it, and correct the page. The site is the price list. That is the whole point of publishing it.

Paying

Build work is invoiced through Stripe. Hosting and care under Styx is a monthly subscription, also through Stripe, and runs until you cancel it.

If an invoice goes unpaid we will chase it, in person, before anything else happens. We will not take a site down without telling you first and giving you a date. Whatever else is in dispute, a live business does not lose its website with no warning because of a billing argument.

What you own

You own the domain, the repository, and every word and image of the content. Not at the end, not on request, not once the final invoice clears: from the start, in your name, on your accounts.

There is no licence to revoke, no code we keep back, and no part of your site that only works while you are paying us. If that is ever untrue of something we built, it is a defect and we will fix it.

Content you give us stays yours, and by giving it to us you are telling us you have the right to use it. If a photograph or a piece of copy turns out to belong to someone else, that is the one category of problem we cannot fix for you, and we will tell you as soon as we spot it.

Getting it wrong, and putting it right

New builds carry a 12-month warranty on the terms set out on that page. In short: if something we wrote does not do what the agreed scope said it would, we fix it and do not bill you for our own defect.

What that does not cover is a change of mind about the scope. New pages and new features are build work, quoted or taken from your included hours, the same as always.

We do not promise the internet will not break. Hosting sits on AWS Amplify and inherits its availability, which we quote as AWS’s published figure and not as a measurement of our own. Where something is outside our control we will tell you what happened and what we are doing, which is the part that is actually ours.

Leaving

You can leave at any time and you do not have to say why. Cancel Styx and hosting winds down at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. There is no notice period, no exit fee, and nothing to buy back, because you already own it.

Leaving costs at most one hour of paid handover assistance, at the published rate, if your next developer wants a guided tour. Usually it costs nothing at all. That sentence is on the principles page too, which is where you should hold us to it.

Your account data comes with you: request the export and you get a signed copy of everything the account holds. Once you have downloaded it, a thirty-day clock starts before we delete our copy, and you can stop that clock at any point during it. The delay is deliberate. A deletion that runs the moment you ask is a deletion that catches the person whose download failed.

What we ask of you

Three things, and no others. Give us the content and the decisions the agreed scope needs, or tell us the build is paused. Keep your own account credentials to yourself. And do not ask us to build something that breaks the law, which we will decline and say why.

If we disagree

Write to hello@page-flow.co.uk and we will answer. We would rather resolve something badly for us than have a client stuck, and most of what turns into a dispute elsewhere is a scope conversation that nobody had early enough.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over anything that cannot be settled between us.

Your data

What we store, why, how long, and how to have it deleted is set out in the privacy note. There are no trackers and no third parties on this site, and there is nothing in this page that quietly widens what that one says.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. Work already agreed runs under the terms that were published when it was agreed, not under whatever this page says later. If a change would affect an ongoing arrangement of yours, we will tell you about it directly rather than relying on you to re-read a page you have already read.

Anything here you want confirmed for a specific situation, ask: hello@page-flow.co.uk
