Pantheon is a module-based website management system. It reads and writes your repository and your database, so you can change your site and its content yourself. Your website does not run on it, and does not need it to keep working.
while we build it
Pantheon is still in development, so everything on this page is a promise about what it will be, not a description of what you can log into today. Until it ships, we do the content work ourselves: send us the edits you would have made and we make them, at no extra cost. Ongoing upkeep is separate and never silently became free, so it follows the same Styx and hourly rules as everyone else’s.

Why page-flow websites don’t rot
Decay is a business model; it sells rebuilds. Three things remove it, and only one of them is Pantheon’s doing.
The build is standard
A normal repository with normal tooling. Any competent developer can maintain or extend it, with or without us, with or without Pantheon.
Upkeep is somebody’s job
Aegis updates dependencies weekly on every Styx tier, and anything critical it finds is fixed free.

Your site does not call Pantheon to render a page. Stop paying us and it keeps serving exactly as it did.
Security, in plain English

Your password can’t be stolen from us in usable form.
Passwords are stored the way the field says to: hashed, never recoverable. Nobody at page-flow can read yours.

Sessions actually expire.
Signing in doesn’t grant access forever. Idle sessions end; stolen cookies go stale.

Access is scoped, and revocable.
Pantheon reaches your repository and database through permissions you granted and can revoke from your own account, without asking us. The permissions are listed when you grant them, and it can do nothing outside them.

Pantheon is the one thing we sell that you do not end up owning. Here is exactly where the line sits.

Rented while you subscribe, never transferred
- Pantheon itself: the software and every module in it
- The servers it runs on, which are not yours and not your site’s
- Your Pantheon account, which ends when the Styx plan ends
This is why cancelling costs you nothing but Pantheon. It is not installed in your site and no part of it ships in your repository, so when the Styx plan stops, your website carries on exactly as it was and you edit it the way you would any other codebase. What you lose is the convenient way of doing it, not the ability.
